Assertiveness - Understand the Process and Gain Self-Confidence

Course Objectives

Personal satisfaction and success is not only based on actual performance; it is also largely influenced by how colleagues, bosses and clients see us and, quite importantly, how they treat us. People who have difficulty saying ‘No’ often find themselves in situations where they have very little control and can quickly end up with more work than they can properly accomplish. The results - poor performance; resentment, missed deadlines and unnecessary stress - can therefore be quite disastrous.

On the other hand, acting assertively allows us to feel self-confident and generally results in gaining the respect of our colleagues and superiors. Being assertive means accepting responsibility for your own actions and being able to express your thoughts and feelings in a way that clearly states your needs and keeps the lines of communication open with the others. The ability to be assertive leads to more confidence, improved communication and more fulfilling relationships. This Assertiveness training course enables the participants to understand the processes that make them more effective, which in turn helps them to increase their self-confidence and sense of achievement while reducing the stress and pressure of unwillingly taking on more work than they can handle. They will also discover the legitimate rights we all have as individuals and how different types of personality can affect work performance.
