PROFESSIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Course Number: MT-11
Registration Number, Formation Professionnelle Continue: 98337 - Luxembourg
Objectives:
Professional Project Management is essential to be successful in today’s competitive business environment: managers must be able to deliver quality results on time and within budget. By applying Project Management processes, tools and techniques, you will maximize your performance and ensure optimum results every time.
In addition to understanding the structure and stages of a project, a successful project manager must also have people management skills because most professional projects involve numerous people at several levels and across various disciplines. For example, major projects normally involve senior management, sponsors, contractors and functional groups - most often in a virtual environment where he or she will not normally have supervisory control over the team members.
During this course you will learn how to lead any project, large or small, using a holistic approach.
From the initial planning, developing and motivating a team, overcoming problems and identifying key processes and resources, every aspect of professional project management will be introduced and explained. Participants are directly involved and have the opportunity to reflect on their own projects and practice what they’ve learned.
The two-day training gives an overview of the techniques involved and explains the theory and processes related to project management. The three-day version includes additional in-depth practical exercises and team-building lessons that allow the participants to put into practice what they’ve learned in the first two days. It also provides for a review of individual projects completed during the course break. A fourth day may be added in order to cover specific topics of interest to the participants such as ‘software projects’ or a comparison of classic and new PM methodologies, including the latest Agile approaches.
