MEETING THE NEW ISO STANDARDS

COURSE NUMBER: QT-03


OBJECTIVES:
Quality is more important today than ever before! When you or I pay for a product or service, we expect to receive exactly what we ordered in a ready to use condition for the agreed price. The same goes for our customers. If ‘Customer Satisfaction’ is the key to our success, than a well-functioning Quality System is a crucial part of the process. More than 350,000 companies around the world use ISO 9000 to help them run their organization. The benefits they find include improved consistency of service / product performance, improved customer perception of the company’s image and culture, improved productivity and efficiency (often leading to cost reductions), improved communications and employee morale and competitive advantage for marketing and sales opportunities.
The main reasons for the recent changes in the ISO 9000 series include usability by all sizes of organizations in all sectors of service and production, simpler and easier to understand, enhanced compatibility with ISO 14000 environmental management systems and greater orientation toward continual improvement and customer satisfaction (putting customer focus at the core of the organization to ensure the customer gets what they asked for and more). This course will introduce the main changes to the structure and format of ISO 9001:2000 (from twenty clauses to just eight) and the requirements that organizations must meet in order to be in compliance with the directives. In addition to lecture and interactive discussions, the course includes hands-on exercises to demonstrate the preparation of internal quality documents and procedures as well as the use of statistical data and feedback from customers. Course material and reference documents will be provided to each participant.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Senior Executives, Quality Managers, Internal Auditors, and any other organizational personnel who have a role in converting, implementing, maintaining, measuring and improving an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.

PREREQUISITES: Some awareness of quality systems and quality management. Good knowledge of the course language as much of the discussion and course work is of a very technical nature.
